Southern California Yachting Association recently named Seal Beach Yacht Club the Club of the Year 2023.

The Yacht Club also won a rescue award for saving a man who fell overboard from a 68-foot sailboat during the club’s Thursday night Pop Tops race in August.

The Southern California Yachting Association is a non-profit California corporation supporting boating groups and clubs from Santa Barbara to San Diego, and inland to Nevada on the Colorado River, and north to Laughlin, Arizona. They have a membership of more than 90 yacht clubs. In a written statement, Seal Beach Yacht Club officials said the club was very honored to receive these awards.

Club of the Year is awarded to the club that has the greatest number of points as determined by a mix of overall activities including cruises, sailboat races, fishing activities and charity events.
