Reflecting on Seal Beach Christmas Parade’s glory days

For nearly as long as the Seal Beach Christmas parade has been going, Baytown Realty has had a hand in it. More specifically, Jim Klisanin helped not only bring it to life, but also create the signature VIP event in his parking lot each Christmas Parade.

By invitation only, this highlight has been one of the “see and be seen” events of the year.  With all the dignitaries, Jim’s family, clients and close friends, the event has grown from something relatively modest to an event with several hundred attendees.

Now with his daughter Shana being such a part of Baytown, he continues his involvement as Chairman Emeritus of the parade.  He says, “I love the parade.

“After 33 years of being in business, I am proud to own my own building, and to have helped along with so many others make our small town’s parade the best in the region.”

The Christmas Parade is one of the only times that Jim and Baytown will not be decked with Pittsburgh Steelers regalia, though according to Jim, he always has some around.

Jim will also be in the parade as he always is, usually with one of his awardwinning classic cars or his electric carts – sometimes both.

Jim said, “being in the parade is something I look forward to all year long.  After having produced it for 25 years, now it is nice to be in it.”
