Project SEEK Spotlight: Lab Teacher Ms. Robin Jenkes

Robin Jenkes

Ms. Jenkes is a proud Alumni of Long Beach State University where she earned her BA in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication and a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. She has 27 years of teaching experience. And her love of books and reading led her to her role as a Media Specialist at McGaugh.

Ms. Jenkes makes sure the students learn everything from basic library skills like using an online catalog, digital citizenship, coding, keyboarding, and word processing using both Office and Google. Because she combines library skills with technology, she gets to tie in all of the school themes with computer lessons, videos, and of course books.

Ms. Jenkes is grateful for the on-going contributions of Project SEEK which made a lab upgrade possible so the students started the year with 38 brand new HP desktops, new headphones and a new projector.

Her favorite part of working with McGaugh Students in the Media Lab is seeing young students (even those tiny Kindergarteners) use technology independently. She also loves how empowering technology can be for our older students as they think about their lives in the future. Because of our community’s generous donations and Project SEEK fundraising, the McGaugh community and our student’s education will be endlessly enriched by Ms. Jenkes and her media lessons.
