Municipal Code—9:32 a.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller said there was a dog on the beach area off the parking lot. The dog was with two individuals under a blue tent. The officer in police unit 107 did not observe any violations and found only one dog in the area.

Keeping the Peace—10:06 a.m.—Green Avenue—The caller said he has been going through an eviction process and that the previous owner of the property has someone changing the locks to the residence. The caller said it’s too early for this. Patrol counseled.

Skunk—8:54 p.m.—Bennington Street—The caller reported a baby skunk had been in their backyard for two days. The caller was referred to Long Beach Animal Care Services.

Suspicious Circumstances—8:27 a.m.—Paseo Bonita—The caller reported an individual at a neighbor’s house moving property out of it using a white open bed truck. Patrol contacted the homeowner, who was having equipment brought in for a party.

Welfare Check—5:34 p.m.—San Joaquin Avenue—The caller reported a nephew made threats that he could kill somebody, then left the residence about an hour and a half earlier.
The mother said she was aware he had mental issues and that her son had been speaking with a doctor since his release from jail the previous week. Patrol counseled the family about a voluntary psychiatric hold or putting the man in a hotel. The family was advised to call the police if he returned.

Family Disturbance—3:34 p.m.—Howard Avenue—The caller reported arguing with his wife who had been drinking and throwing around a lamp in their living room. The caller and his son were locked in another room.
Patrol determined it was a verbal argument only and that the two parties separated.
Monday, May 26
Welfare Check—12:27 p.m.—Howard Avenue—The caller requested a welfare check on his girlfriend who he said has been locked inside her residence for five days and had a history of bipolar disorder but is not on any psychiatric medications.
He said she had been acting erratically lately, shaved her head the previous week and that she smoked marijuana.
The caller and the woman were at the front of the residence, and patrol counseled them.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—4:46 a.m.—Yellowtail Drive—The caller reported hearing glass break near the location.
Suspicious Person in Vehicle—4:27 p.m.—St. Albans Drive—The caller said a vehicle was occupied by two men in their 20s who were hanging out in front of the residence 20 minutes earlier.

Keep the Peace—7:15 a.m.—Martha Ann Drive—The caller said his wife locked him out and he wanted to pick up property.
Illegal Peddling—2:04 p.m.—Wallingsford Road—The caller said a man was going door to door. The caller did not know what he was selling.

Citizen Assist—9:29 a.m.—St. Albans Drive—The caller saw a man standing on her front porch at 5 a.m.
She only saw a shadow and was unable to provide a description.
Suspicious Person in Vehicle—11:34 a.m.—Martha Ann Drive.
Suspicious Person or Circumstances—9 p.m.—Bostonian Drive—The caller reported an individual who the caller said appeared to be casing the neighborhood.
The caller said the individual had been in the area at least three times that week and did not belong there.

Suspicious Person or Circumstances—8:19 p.m.—Foster Road—A deputy searched near the drop off area of the school for a man who might be mentally ill.
