Thursday, July 20

Found Property—8:30 a.m.—Main Street and Electric Avenue—The caller found a bag or suitcase on the benches at the location on the northeast corner. Police disposed of the trash.

Suspicious—8:48 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said two individuals appeared to have passed out in a car in the parking lot. A few details were blacked out in the log. The Orange County Fire Authority was en route. However, police unit 106 determined that the individuals were just sleeping in the car while they waited for a business to open. No further law enforcement services were required.

Suspicious Person—10:54 a.m.—Blue Heron—The caller was walking when a man came out of the bushes located near the back of the caller’s home. He asked the caller if there were any good places to hang out. The caller said he appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The caller described his speech as slurred. Traffic Hazard—12:06 p.m.—College Park Drive and San Gabriel River—The caller said two men fishing on the bridge were overhead casting and causing a traffic hazard. Police unit 106 advised them against overhead casting. They apparently said they would comply.

Suspicious Person—12:39 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—Fifteen minutes prior to calling the police, the caller encountered a man carrying a folder and using his phone to record people as he asked them questions. A few details were blacked out in the log. Police were unable to locate the mysterious interviewer.

Suspicious Person—1:31 p.m.—Electric Avenue—The caller said a man described as 28 years old with a skateboard was hanging out near the rear of the address. The caller was concerned due to recent burglaries in the area. Police were unable to locate him.

Contact Citizen—3:01 p.m.—Main Street—An irate citizen called police to complain that he received a ticket with time still on the meter. However, it turned out the caller misread the ticket. No further law enforcement services were required.

Welfare Check—11:31 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said an individual was laying down in the parking lot. Someone went to check on him and as the caller spoke with dispatch, the caller saw him move. Some details were blacked out in the log. Police arrested Nora Fuentes on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

Friday, July 21

Suspicious Occupied Car—2:09 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller said a man in a car had been present for 20 minutes or more and was staring at the caller. However, police unit 107 found the car in question unoccupied. Police found nothing suspicious. Police were unable to locate the man who had been in the car. There was no answer when police phoned the caller.

Disturbance, Family—10:16 p.m.—First Street—The caller said a woman threw hot oil and rice on the caller. They had apparently been arguing about property. The caller was phoning the police from the porch. The woman also walked out on the porch. The Orange County Fire authority was staging. Police unit 207 requested an additional unit to stand by with the man while making contact with the woman. A few details were blacked out in the log. Police arrested the woman, Orawan Sareekietdilok, on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence.

Saturday, July 22

Arrest—12:05 a.m.—Anderson and Pacific Coast Highway—The caller said a car had been swerving and coming into other lanes. At one point, the car was going northbound in the southbound lanes. A few details were blacked out in the log. Police found the car stopped and the driver unresponsive. Police unit 206 requested paramedics. Orange County Fire Authority paramedics arrived. Disturbance, Juveniles—4:16 p.m.—Main Street—The caller said there were three children (of unspecified age) in the parking lot and the caller was afraid they would damage cars. Possible Drugs—4:26 p.m.—Montecito Road—The caller said some individuals were drinking and smoking marijuana at the location. Many details were blacked out in the log. Police were unable to locate them.

Disturbance, Juveniles—4:42 p.m.—Electric Avenue and Main Street—The caller said five skateboarders were jumping off the stairs and in front of people. Some details were blacked out in the log. They were gone when police arrived.

Disturbance—10:34 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said a man in the parking lot was yelling that he didn’t want to steal and was also yelling something about his dog. Bees—11:04 a.m.—Balboa and Pacific Coast Highway—The caller said there were bees on a street sign on Balboa. Some details were blacked out in the log. The caller wanted the police to see if it was a hive or if the bees were just swarming. Police were unable to locate the bees.

Fireworks—8:15 p.m.—Bolsa Avenue—The caller thought someone was on school grounds, setting off fireworks. The caller didn’t see anyone, but did hear people. Police unit 207 contacted skateboarders in the area who said they saw someone on the roof 30 minutes earlier. A few details were blacked out in the log. Arrest—8:52 p.m.—Pacific Coat Highway—The caller said a man was loitering in front of the door. The caller asked police to have him move along. Police unit 207 contacted the man and arrested Crescencio Lucio Garcia on suspicion of possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.

Monday, July 24

Possible DUI—8:46 p.m.—Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway—The caller said a man in a car was smoking marijuana. The caller said his car was swerving. Some details were blacked out in the log. Police went to the home of the registered owner of the car, but were unable to locate the car. Another police unit checked the area and was also unable to locate the car.

Car Burglary—11:26 a.m.—Birchwood Avenue—The caller said that someone took a dark navy blue suit jacket from the caller’s car at about 4:09 a.m., that day. Some details were blacked out in the log. Report taken.

Theft From a Car—4:49 p.m.—Daisy Street—Sometime during the night, someone took work keys, an apron and a name tag from the caller’s car. The car may have been left unlocked. A few details were blacked out in the log. Report taken.

Fireworks—9:47 p.m.—Surfside Avenue—The caller, relaying second-hand information from a resident, said fireworks were being set off on the beach. However, police were unable to locate anyone or anything suspicious on the beach.

Tuesday, July 25

Transient—4:56 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard and Golden Rain Road—The caller reported a man who was apparently described as a transient lying on the sidewalk on Seal Beach Boulevard. Traffic Hazard—10 a.m.—Pacific Coast Highway—The caller said a transient man was carrying three bicycles in the lanes of traffic while yelling at passing cars. The caller saw him 8 minutes earlier. Police were unable to locate him.

Disturbance, Juveniles—2:34 p.m.—Bolsa Avenue—the caller said several individuals were skateboarding near the office. The caller asked them to leave and they refused. Police unit 107 advised seven individuals to leave and they left.

Bees—5:12 p.m.—Balboa and Marlin—The caller said a bee hive was being built on or near the 25 mph street sign. Police were unable to locate any bees.

Wednesday, July 26

Welfare Check—5:02 a.m.—Pacific Coast Highway—The caller reported an individual passed out at the location. A few details were blacked out in the log. Police arrested Michael Hastings on suspicion of public intoxication.

Disturbance—3:10 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller reported 20 men and women, ages 19 to 20 years old, were throwing water balloons at random individuals as they passed by. Welfare Check—8:06 p.m.—Marina Drive—The caller reported a man passed out in a car. According to the caller, the engine had been running for more than an hour and a half.
