WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31

• Arrest (Priority 3)—7:19 a.m.—Seaview Lane (Leisure World)–Beth Angeles, 36, was arrested on suspicion of grand theft.

• Transient (Priority 3)—1:36 p.m.—Avalon Drive (The Hill)—The reporting person called the police after seeing a man sleeping in the park. The reporting person was concerned due to the presence of children in the park.

• Disturbing the Peace (Priority 3)—4:07 p.m.—Driftwood Avenue–The reporting person said that juveniles were constantly leaving a skateboard ramp that was blocking the street. She was upset as the ramp weighed too much for her to move it.

• Suspicious Person(s) (Priority 2)—5:40 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard–Two juveniles were seen fighting a third juvenile, who dropped to the ground and began bleeding. The juvenile was transported by Orange County Fire Authority to a hospital to receive treatment for his injuries. The reporting person stated that he believed that all parties knew each other as the reporting person had seen them together in the same car moments beforehand. Police were unable to locate the other two juveniles involved.

SATURDAY, APRIL 3

• Suspicious Person (Priority 2)—10:45 a.m.—Lampson Avenue–A man was spotted running along the freeway and onto Lampson Avenue while holding a potted plant.

• Outside Agency Assist (Priority 3)—4:52 p.m.—Dolphin Avenue (Old Town)–The reporting person found a gas leak in the alley. He smelled the leak and saw that the gas dial was spinning on the meter. The Orange County Fire Authority determined that there was a small leak and contained it.

SUNDAY, APRIL 4

• Disturbing the Peace (Priority 2)—1:03 a.m.—Pacific Coast Highway–A boyfriend and a girlfriend began arguing after the girlfriend took away the boyfriend’s keys to his car. Both were drunk; the girlfriend left in an Uber after being assisted by the police.

• Disturbing the Peace (Priority 2)—10:22 a.m.— Main Street and Pacific Coast Highway (Old Town)–A man was swinging his black bag and talking to himself. Police were unable to locate the individual.

• Transient (Priority 3)—4:07 p.m.—Pacific Coast Highway —The reporting person stated that a transient, who may have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, would not leave their store. The reporting person was afraid to agitate the individual by asking them to leave. The transient left the store soon after the call.

• Stray Animals (Priority 3)—4:29 p.m.—Heron Point and Seal Beach Boulevard—A duck and their ducklings wandered through traffic, causing a disruption.

• Disturbing the Peace (Priority 3)—5:51 p.m.—Main Street and Central Avenue (Old Town) —A man playing music with a keyboard and speaker located in the trunk of his car was disturbing those nearby, as the music being played sounded depressing. Police asked him to lower the volume.

SUNDAY, APRIL 5

• Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Priority 4)—3 a.m.—Pacific Coast Highway and Studebaker — Jack Clinton Hynes Jr., 61, was arrested on suspicion of possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop.

• Vandalism Report (Priority 3)—9:28 a.m.—Surfside Avenue B — A suspected resident from B Row removed and unscrewed a “speed bump” installed by the Home Owner’s Association. He then left the “speed bump” on the patio of the homeowner’s association’s office. Report taken.

• Found Property (Priority 4)—3:51 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard — A person found a ring while beach combing. The ring was handed over to the police for safekeeping in the hope that the ring could be returned to its rightful owner.

MONDAY, APRIL 6

• Incident Report (Priority 3)—10:08 a.m.—Crestview Avenue — The reporting person said that sometime the night before juveniles had used chalk to write inappropriate comments and images on the reporting person’s property and that their house was toilet papered. A neighbor of the reporting person has the juveniles in question on video. Report taken.

TUESDAY, APRIL 7

• Suspicious Person (Priority 2)—10:54 a.m.—Twelfth Street and Electric Avenue — The reporting person was approached by a man asking the reporting person to come to his car to “show the reporting person something.”

The man then grabbed his own crotch.

Report taken.

• Disturbing the Peace (Priority 2)—5:23 p.m.—Harbor Way (The Hill)—The reporting person’s neighbor was yelling and playing loud music.

When asked to turn it down, the neighbor cursed the reporting person and their husband. Police counseled the neighbor.

• Criminal Threats (Priority 2)— 6:19 p.m.—Harbor Way (The Hill)—The reporting person said their next door neighbor had a shovel in his hand and was threatening people. John McCarthy, 43, was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats.

• Car Burglary (Priority 3)—8:50 a.m.—Ocean Avenue (Old Town)—A thief entered a car by a Hide A Key and stole a wallet as the victim was out surfing. Report taken.

• Patrol Check (Priority 3)—1:45 p.m.—Taper Drive and Catalina Avenue (The Hill)—Children playing whiffle ball with their parents created a traffic hazard in the street. Parents were advised.

• Transient (Priority 3)—10:47 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard–The reporting person said a male transient was sleeping in front of their location and making their customers uncomfortable.

The transient left soon after.
