Aro Riley wins concert opportunity drawing

Aro Riley and her son Liam

You’d be pressed to find a better deserving person than Aro Riley from Seal Beach to win last week’s 50/50 raffle drawing at the Summer Concerts Series.

Riley, who lives and works in Seal Beach with her three children, donates her spare time to the Lions Club, an organization who most recently was commended by the City for helping to clean up the park benches throughout the beach community.

Riley’s children, Alex, Sara and Liam Riley, are also following in her footsteps as they are part of the Leos Club, which is a part of the Lions Club for younger children.

Riley has been coming to the Summer Concert Series for years and said she tries to make each one unless it conflict with her Lion’s Club meetings. Last week, however, she chose to skip her monthly meeting. It seems as though it was a good choice as she is $450 richer.

“They are all friendly people who are kind and giving,” Riley said of what she likes most about Seal Beach and its people.

There is one more Summer Concerts left featuring L.A.vation – A Tribute to U2, on Wednesday, Aug. 31. Bring a chair, a picnic basket and some good friends to enjoy what’s left of the summer at Eisenhower Park, at the foot of the Seal Beach pier.

The concert begins at 6 p.m.
