There are some changes at Peters Landing (16400 Pacific Coast Highway, across from the famous Water Tower), including an increasing number of new restaurants, a market, coffee house and other businesses in a beautiful Marina setting.

Here’s the latest: Starbucks has a new Manager, Tasha Robertson, whose husband, Jason, is the Senior Pastor at Huntington Beach Church. Beale’s BBQ is moving to a bigger location with a Sports Bar, just east of where they are now. As of yet, an unnamed Mexican Restaurant will occupy Beale’s old location.

Himalayan Grill, after a two year absence during the Landing’s refurbishment, has moved back to a new location, next to Beale’s, that formerly was the Peter’s Landing Athletic Club. On April 29th, Allstate Agent Rick Costa is moving from Suite 219 to a new location (opening May 2nd) at 428 Main St., Suite 208, in Huntington Beach.

Mother’s Market and Kitchen, which opened last July, is the second store in Sunset Beach’s more than 110 year history. “It’s is the best thing that happened to Sunset Beach,” said Jean Nagy, local resident and president of the Huntington Beach Tree Society President Jean Nagy. “ I love to shop there.”

Chris Hodgman, Leasing Agent for Retail Insite, said, “We’re working on all the existing vacancies at Peter’s Landing to ensure we bring in great businesses that best fit the project and local community.”

“Peter’s Landing is perfectly placed,” said Dawn McCormack, president of the Sunset Beach Woman’s Club.

“I love to walk there from my house and get fresh veggies and fruits as well as cookies at Mother’s Market. I think the new Peter’s Landing looks terrific and I love the open views of the harbor and really enjoy eating lunch with friends at the restaurants. It’s convenient and fun, sitting, gazing at all the boating activity, which makes you feel like you are on vacation. Our club is planning a luncheon at Golden Road Brewery,” she said.

Huntington Harbour Commission Chairman Mike Van Voorhis said he loves the improved Landing. “It’s nice to take your Duffy or dinghy to a dock with friends & visit a restaurant,” said the former President of the Sunset Beach Community Association.

James Griffin, founder/publisher of Sunset Beach Magazine, said, “The new restaurants,  like Golden Road and Beale’s, have provided excellent dining choices for local visitors and add an extra flavor to the growth and development of not only our unique community but the whole coastal area.”
