Sun welcomes new associate publisher

CommunityMedia Corp, the Sun’s parent company, welcomed new Sun Associate Publisher Vince Bodiford on Monday, June 20. He was chosen after a three-month search and brings a wide range of newspaper experience with him. His most recent position was as the strategic advertising manager with the Gannett-owned Arizona Republic and azcentral.com.

Over the last 20 years Bodiford, 48, has held positions as community newspaper account executive, publisher, owner and president in Texas, Colorado and Nebraska. He has also worked for daily newspapers, monthlies, streaming video, social media and more. His marketing experience includes being the National Group Marketing Manager for two major national sporting goods retailers.

Bodiford and his wife, a California Registered Veterinary Technician, have relocated from Scottsdale, Arizona to Seal Beach. They have two grown and married children.

Bodiford is originally from California, where his newspaper career began. He grew up on the Colorado River in Needles, CA. His hobbies include all things automotive and boating related; and he is an avid automotive journalist, and editor of TheWeekendDrive.com.

“I am looking forward to becoming a part of the Seal Beach community, and making positive contributions to the community and the newspaper,” Bodiford said.
