Summer concerts kick off

Summer is officially in full swing in Seal Beach. As of press time, there have been two concerts in the Chamber of Commerce  Summer Concert Series.

The concert series started on the first Wednesday in July with the ’80s band Flashpants.

This week’s band was the Country/Classic Rock group Highway 91.

Next week’s band will be the Chris Anderson Band, which will perform 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, in Eisenhower Park at the foot of the iconic Seal Beach Pier.

On Wednesday, July 22, also from 6-8 p.m., Gregg Young and the 2nd Street Band will perform on the Eisenhower Park stage.

The group plays high-energy Rock ‘N’ Roll, Pop, Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Latin Grooves and “C” Jazz.

Guitarist Young, Felice Hernandez, Connie Early and Dani Phoenix provide the vocals as Ming Freeman plays the keys, Casey Jones plays the drums and Jorge Bermudez supplies the percussion. See the photo of Gregg Young and the 2nd Street Band on page 14.
