Brittani Rick of Seal Beach (left) and Kiara “Kiki” Hageman of Rossmoor (right) recently graduated from Long Beach Search & Rescue. Both are Juniors at Los Alamitos High School. Of the 30 graduates, Rick and Hageman were the only girls who were qualifed to make the final grade. They endured 16 weeks of extensive training involving Search Ops, Emergency Rescue, Patient transfers and Fire Suppression. The program offers these young cadets skills to further pursue their goals in becoming Firefighter/Paramedics with emphasis on Humantarian Search & Rescue. Kiara has also recently been nominated to attend the National Youth Leadership in Medicine Conference in Washington D.C. this summer.
