Seal Beach Animal Care Center raises almost $9K at bake sale

Fundraiser uses cookies to bring in dough for local no-kill shelter

The volunteers for the Seal Beach Animal Care Center did not think they could top the $4,221 they took in at the Lions Fish Fry Event. But according to Laura Hendrickson, the Bake Sale coordinator, “with the help of a very generous long time donor, the shelter brought in $8,938.00, more than double what we took in at the Fish Fry.” The money provided in her total included both the anonymous donation and money raised by selling baked goods at the annual Seal Beach Arts and Crafts Faire.

According to the Care Center, the money will go towards helping two special animals.  Lulu will get her home for dogs with behavioral challenges and Mr. Whiskers, a cat with Feline Infectious Peritonitis, will get lifesaving medical treatment.

Animal Care Center volunteers offered many thanks to the donors who support the no-kill community shelter year after year.
