My name is Ron Ziebell, a Seal Beach resident and owner of Alternative Surf Bodyboard Shop on Main Street.
The Sun ran an article about my accident when I broke my back bodyboarding in June of 2008 and was paralyzed from the waist down.
I am still recovering with physical therapy and am very happy to be up on my feet with crutches.
I just wanted to give an update and send in a photo of my son, Nicolas and me with my jackpot-winning 9-pound sheephead I caught while
fishing San Nicolas Island last weekend. It was my first venture out on the ocean to get back to one of my passions and my son’s first trip out also.
We would be very stoked if you found room to run this shot.
My next goal is to ride my first wave this summer!!
