Dogs should be allowed on the pier

The argument that dog paws could be injured on the pier by catching splinters is weak at best. I doubt there would be any incidents of this nature. Adding dog bag dispensers like we have in other areas of town would solve the “no doggie bag” issue.

When I read Municipal Code 9.05.090 (B) I couldn’t help but be amused and suppose that this code must have been written when horses were still prime transportation in town. This code doesn’t specifically prohibit dogs on the pier, just riding a horse or other animal.

Wouldn’t it be great to enjoy our renovated pier with our best friends (dogs and people): might even bring more visitors to come shop our stores!
