Huntington Harbour’s George Demos knighted

George Demos, above left, accepts his certificate for The Order of the Knights of Rizal.

George Demos of Huntington Harbour,  received “The Order of the Knights of Rizal,”  knighthood on June 17, 2011 at the Filipino-American Cultural Center for his service to his country and community.

Demos has served 30 years in the military active duty and reserve army (retired Colonel).

Served 30 years as a professor of Counseling Psychology at California State University, Long Beach. Demos practiced as a clinical psychologist for 40 years.

Served 35 years as a Yacht Club member, Commodore, President and Director of past Commodore’s Association.

Served 20 years as Vice Commander of the United States Service Command, a disaster relief organization, traveling around the world helping with disaster relief.

Served the past five years as president of the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder  Project, helping veterans.

He was knighted for his service.
