Help ‘Deck The Halls’ of Interval House shelters

Svetlana and her son, Sean, are just one of hundreds of families that will benefit from your donations.

Sadly, the holidays are the busiest time of year for Interval House, which has served as a lifeline to battered women and children in Seal Beach since opening its doors 1979 in the seaside beautiful city.

Interval House is the only domestic violence shelter program in Seal Beach, with a rich, storied history of providing comprehensive, award-winning services to thousands of mothers and children in crisis.

Interval House’s own special holiday wish is to be able to provide a safe and lovely holiday season for the very deserving women and children who could use some extra holiday cheer this year.

The shelters are overwhelmed with the number of abused women and children who turn to us for safety, shelter and the promise of a brighter New Year.

By helping with just one of the needs listed below, your generosity will touch many lives:

• A Special Holiday Financial Donation – This will help Interval House meet the most immediate needs of its residents and shelters during its busiest time of the year.

• Gift Cards for Supermarkets or Retail Stores – Please consider donating gift cards for supermarkets or retail stores (such as Target) so that Interval House can distribute these gifts to all of the women and children in our shelter and outreach programs during the holiday season. The gift cards, though seemingly impersonal and generic, is actually the very most personal gift that you can give to a woman or child in need.

“It is extremely personal because it gives a woman a sense of self-respect as she, with gift card in hand, can hand pick the perfect gift for her children, or buy the food that she and her children need most,” said Interval House Community Education Director Janine Limas Hageman. “Most families have little to nothing, and their needs range from clothing to food to household items to everything else imaginable. Gift cards ensure that the families get exactly what they need most.”

Cards of any kind and in any denomination will be most appreciated, especially because they can be used all year round.

Those cards that are not given out during the holidays are used to help families purchase household items, clothing, and essential items throughout the year as they transition into safer, stronger, healthier lives.

“We sincerely hope that you will choose to share your good fortune this holiday season with those who desperately need the love, joy, and support that your donation would provide,” Said Carol Williams,” Interval House executive director.
