The deadline to submit applications for one of the two $500 scholarships to be awarded on June 12 at the 10th Annual Friendship & Flowers Scholarship Luncheon is Friday, May 14.
The applications are now available at the Career and Counseling Office at Los Alamitos High School, Cypress High School, Oxford Academy and Pacifica High School, by sending an email to losalrwf@yahoo.com or by contacting Pam Basich, Chair, Rossmoor-Los Alamitos RWF Scholarship Tea at 562/431-4231. Any high school senior residing in the area surrounding Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Seal Beach, Cypress and West GardenGrove may apply.
Each year the local chapter of the National Federation of Republican Women selects 2 high school seniors to receive $500 scholarships to help with the costs of continuing education. A short essay is required that states “What the Constitution Means to Me…” as well as a brief history of their academic, service and extra curricular achievements and education plans.
The applicant does not need to be a registered voter or active in politics to apply. All completed applications are due no later than May 14, 2010. The Scholarship recipients will be honored at the Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Saturday, June 12th at the El Dorado Park Golf Course.
