July 4
Suspicious circumstances – 8:03 a.m. – Main Street – Caller reported fireworks remnants and drug paraphernalia and it looked like someone tried to burn something. The burned area was up against the building.
Transient – 12:41 p.m. – Main Street – Caller reported a transient who was scaring customers and the caller was getting complaints. The transient was asking for money and had a shopping cart. The caller reported that the man’s smell was seeping into the restaurant.
Welfare check – 1:09 p.m. – 2nd Street/Ocean Avenue – Caller reported that a female was laying on the ground with a hat on her face. There was trash all around the subject, as if she had been digging in the trash can. A dog tied to a tree may have belonged to the subject. She was described as a white female with a pink shirt and light-colored shorts. A nearby car with the trunk open and a tarp parked near the sand may have belonged to the subject. The subject cleaned all the trash.
Fireworks – 9:53 p.m. – Avalon Drive – Caller reported that a vehicle drove up and shot a bottle rocket into Gum Grove. The caller was concerned it might catch fire and requested a unit check the park. The vehicle was possibly a Toyota Corolla. The vehicle drove up to the park, someone set off a bottle rocket and then drove away.
Fireworks – 11:38 p.m. – Avalon Drive – Caller reported a Prius was driving on Avalon and the subjects in the car were seen shooting off fireworks.
July 5
Suspicious occupied vehicle – 2:02 a.m. – Lampson Avenue – Caller reported that the subject had a flat tire and was asking if he could leave his car overnight. A tow was called instead, and the tire was fixed. The subject asked if he could leave the vehicle due to it being in an accident. The caller said the subject was acting suspicious and trying to get inside.
