Crime Log: Man and woman shot on Marina Drive in Long Beach

A man and woman were shot near a restaurant on the Long Beach/Seal Beach border the early hours of Sunday morning, Oct. 2.

At about 1:08 a.m., Long Beach Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 100 bock of Marina Drive.

It turned out that a man had been shot at and struck in the upper body. Bullets also struck a woman in her lower body, according to Lisa Massacani, public information officer for the Long Beach Police Department.

Massacani said the man and woman were taken to a local hospital, which she did not identify. Although they were shot, their injuries were not life-threatening.

The crime apparently took place near Khoury’s Restaurant, a Belmont Shore eating establishment.

Khoury’s is closed on Mondays.
