The source documents were provided by the Seal Beach Police Department. Arrests occurred in Seal Beach unless noted otherwise in the log.

IN SEAL BEACH

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 27

• Transient (Priority 3)—10:31 a.m.—Fifth Street—The reporting person said a transient man was next to trash bins. He appeared to be rummaging through a kid’s backpack and had a razor scooter with him. The reporting person was concerned about petty theft. He was gone when police arrived.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 28

• Car Theft (Priority 3)—8:54 a.m.—Beachcomber Drive (The Hill)—The reporting person said their car was taken between 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 27, and 8 a.m. that morning. The reporting person said an attempt to steal the car was made a few weeks prior. The reporting person had both sets of keys. Report taken.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 29

• Welfare Check (Priority 2)—7:59 a.m.—Brookline Road—The reporting person spoke with his friend earlier that morning. She told him she was on the floor and could not get up. She tried to call him while he was speaking with the police. As of 8:04 a.m., security was notified. As of 8:06 a.m., police contacted the woman by phone. She confirmed that she couldn’t get up. A minute later, she told police that she was OK, she just needed a lift assist. As of 8:08 a.m., paramedics were notified. As of 8:25 a.m., she had been helped.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 30

• Counseling (Priority 3)—9 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The reporting person insisted on speaking with an officer. A girlfriend he met online was now asking for gift cards from Walmart. He was counseled.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 31

• Health and Safety (Priority 2)—7:10 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The reporting person said a man who was apparently described as a transient was snorting something. As of 7:11 a.m., he was seen wrapping his arm. He had a needle in his hand. As of 7:13 a.m. As of 7:17 a.m., police had detained one person. The disposition of the log indicated he was arrested, but his name was not provided in the log entry.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 1

• Transient (Priority 3)—9:42 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The reporting person said a man was yelling to leave him alone and throwing punches in the air. Police were unable to locate him.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 15

• Arrest— Cherry and Seventh Street (in Long Beach) —Seal Beach Police arrested Leonardo Cortez Lopez on suspicion of felony grand theft bicycles.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 16

• Arrest—Westminster Avenue and Seal Beach Boulevard—Police arrested Chad Jeffrey Meyer on suspicion of misdemeanor possession of unlawful drug paraphernalia.

SUNDAY, JANUARY 17

• Arrest—College Park Drive —Police arrested Abel Contreras on suspicion of misdemeanor possession/etc., of burglary tools.

• Arrest—Pacific Coast Highway—Police arrested William Adam Hecker on suspicion of felony grand theft of Bicycles.

• Arrest—Pacific Coast Highway—Police arrested Kelly Neil Collins on suspicion of felony grand theft bicycles.

THURSDAY, JANUARY 21

• Arrest—First Street—Police arrested Raul Javier Valenzuela on suspicion of felony residential burglary, forced entry.
