Amonix CEO dies in plane crash

The chief executive officer of Amonix, a Seal Beach solar panel company, died at approximately at 5:30 p.m., Thursday Dec. 22, when his Cessna crashed in York County, Penn., according to amonix.com.There was no additional information about the accident on the Amonix Web site.

News reports say Brian Robertson was piloting the plane when he took off alone from Long Beach Airport.

According to his biography at amonix.com, Robertson was co-founder of Sunworks Solar LLC, a solar manufacturing plant developer, and co-founder and president of SunEdison.

He was a graduate of MIT with a bachelor of science degree in computer science and had a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.

According to amonix.com, he was flying to Pennsylvania to spend the holidays with his family when the plane crashed.

“Surviving Brian are his parents David and Donna Robertson, his sister Julie, his wife Eileen and children, Melanie, Brooke and Max,” wrote Vahan Garboushian, Amonix founder, CTO and chairman of the board.
