Seal Beach Pier’s view

Until recently I have taken it for granted that we would rebuild another restaurant at the end of our pier.

I have lived here for 48 years and there has always been a café or restaurant there.

A few months ago when we spent a couple of days in San Clemente and took time to walk out on their pier we had the experience of being able to “see forever” as we enjoyed the unobstructed view.

My husband Mike said, “Wouldn’t it be lovely if Seal Beach Pier remained open as well?”

Recently someone mentioned in the Sun that they loved just walking on the pier and feeling as if you could just walk across the Pacific. I don’t know if it is too late to consider not building a restaurant or structure on the pier. I hope not.

Although we are still unable to go out to the end of the pier I can imagine our pier with only a viewing area at the end.

I would suggest that the very end section be a non-fishing zone.

We could create an open space for looking off and just appreciating the beauty and magnitude of the Pacific.
