Parking permits on sale Oct. 3

New residential parking permits will be on sale starting Monday, Oct. 3, at Seal Beach City Hall. Seal Beach Police Sgt. Michael Henderson, the police public information officer, confirmed the details earlier this week.

You can buy the permits at the Finance Department window during regular business hours: 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.

The cost: $15 for a residential permit and $20 for a guest pass.

No, you will not need to bring your old permit.

Yes, parking stickers are still being issued.

Current parking permits are scheduled to expire Oct. 31.

New parking permits will be valid from Nov. 1 each year to Oct. 31 of the next year.

The electronic parking permit placards that the city rolled out last year are history.

Long term, police are working on implementing a parking system that is linked to a car’s license plate.
