Burglary Report—9:37 a.m.—Surfside Avenue—The caller said someone took a long board from the caller’s garage during the night. It was not known if the door was left open. The caller would phone back later for a report.
Suspicious Occupied Vehicle—11:28 a.m.—Almond and Aster—The caller saw a car go through all the cul de sacs in the neighborhood, traveling westbound. The caller thought the driver might be casing.
Found Property—3:36 p.m.—Adolfo Lopez Drive—The caller said they had a package that was delivered to their business but intended for someone else.
The caller requested someone pick it up. Assisted.
Extra Patrol Checks Requested—7:25 p.m.—Westminster Avenue—The caller requested extra patrol checks late at night and early morning for transients sleeping inside the lobby area.

Suspicious Vehicle—10:14 p.m.—Central Avenue and Fifth Street—The caller said an unoccupied car had open doors. Police unit 207 checked the car and found nothing suspicious. The car was locked and secured. Log entry.
Saturday, April 2
Arrest—1:32 a.m.—Main Street—The caller said a woman was in front of the business, fighting with a bouncer. An employee requested the presence of police. Police unit 207 contacted the woman. Police arrested Adriana Vallarino on suspicion of public intoxication.
Transient—9:22 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said there was an on-going issue with a transient woman creating a disturbance with staff. She was gone by the time police arrived.
Suspicious Person—2:17 p.m.—Marina Drive—The caller said a woman was sitting on the stairway at the end of the property on the Marinia Drive side. She didn’t respond to the caller’s questions and that seemed suspicious.
Police arrested Crystal Cardenas on suspicion of public intoxication. Arrested.
Municipal Code Complaint—7:33 p.m.—Dolphin and Seal—The caller said four or five individuals were near the berm with a bonfire. Police unit 207 advised them against violating the Municipal Code.
Theft Report—9:23 p.m.—Surfside Avenue—Someone used the caller’s credit card number to make purchases. Some details were blacked out in the log. Report taken.
Sunday, April 3
Burned Logs—8:08 a.m.—Avalon Drive—The caller said someone made a campfire on the main path near the center of the park. The fire was no longer lit.
Whoever made the fire left behind used and unused logs with trash and a shopping cart.
There were five burned logs there, cold to the touch. No other property was present. The logs were removed from the trail. Police determined no further police services were necessary.
Reckless Driver—7:18 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller said a Jeep, occupied by two men, kept driving erratically all over the lot, over sand piles, up and down Ocean Avenue and then back in the Eighth Street lot. The caller said they left, but thought they would come back. Police were unable to locate them.
Disturbance, Noise—8:17 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller said a group of kids were hanging out in the lot, playing loud music. Police 207 advised the kids to stop making noise and they said they would comply.
Monday, April 4
Grand Theft Report—10:57 a.m.—El Dorado Drive—Loss: jewelry and coins. The caller provided police with information about possible suspects. The caller needed a case number for the insurance claim only. Log entry.
Injured Animal—7:34 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller said an injured seagull, its left wing collapsed, was about 30 feet from the pier. Message delivered to Long Beach Animal Care Services after hours.
Hail By Citizen—11:49 p.m.—First Street and Pacific Coast Highway—A citizen hailed police unit 207 to report seeing something strange in the water by the bridge. Police determined it was a flotation device. No further police services were necessary.
Tuesday, April 5
Municipal Code Complaint—7:38 a.m.—Ocean Avenue—The caller said two large dogs were off leash near the dunes, defecating. They were gone by the time police arrived.
Dead Animal—8:36 a.m.—Bolsa and Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller reported a dead coyote on the northbound side of Seal Beach Boulevard, at the median in front of McGaugh. Referred to Long Beach Animal Care Services.
Suspicious Person—1 p.m.—Jade Cove and Marlin—The caller said a man was going door-to-door, leaving pamphlets. The man said he was going to random doors that were closed and trying the handles. The caller’s door was open and he skipped it. Police unit 641 contacted the man and interviewed him in the field.
Wednesday, April 6
Transient—6:45 a.m.—Bolsa Avenue—The caller said a transient man had set up a camp near the bus stop on Seal Beach Boulevard. The caller was concerned because kids would be coming to school. Police interviewed him in the field. The man was packing up his belongings and waiting for the bus.
Suspicious Property—11:54 a.m.—Pacific Coast Highway and Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller saw something suspicious on the northeast corner near the Naval Weapons Station, possibly a transient’s property. Police unit 107 determined the suspicious property was two bags of trash.
Attempted Petty Theft—3:50 p.m.—Main Street—The caller said a woman grabbed a pair of shorts, took off the tag and the hanger and was making her way to the back of the store when the caller stopped her. She put the items back and left.
Thursday, April 7
Possible Car Burglary—12:23 p.m.—Corsair Way—Between 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 6, and midnight, Thursday, April 7, someone took change, phone chargers and a leatherman tool from the caller’s car. It was unknown if the car was locked or unlocked. No suspect information. Report taken.
Traffic Hazard—7:40 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard and Adolfo Lopez—The caller said there was a metal cart in the southbound number three lane. Police unit 207 moved the cart.
Friday, April 8
Suspicious Circumstances—6:55 a.m.—Electric Avenue—The caller reported seeing a man climb over the spiked gate behind the library and leave on a beach cruiser bike. The man on the bike was gone by the time police arrived.
Municipal Code Complaint—10:31 a.m.—12th Street—The caller said an individual was using a table saw prior to the allowed time. The caller wanted the individual to be advised about the Municipal Code. Police unit 106 contacted the person in question and warned the individual against using a table saw before the permitted time of day. The individual promised to comply.
Disturbance—11:04 a.m.—Main Street—The caller said a woman, described as a drunk transient, had a wine bottle next to her and was cursing passersby. One of the passersby was a small child. Police were unable to locate her.
Municipal Code Complaint—5 p.m.—Almond and Oleander—The caller was upset about a woman smoking her cigarettes and throwing them on the ground. The caller said there was an on-going issue with the woman littering the corner with her cigarette butts. The caller was placed on hold and the caller disconnected. Beat unit advised.
Saturday, April 9
Fraud Report—7:13 p.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said a man used a fraudulent debit card to buy gift cards. The transaction was completed, but when the caller told the man his debit card wasn’t working, he left without the cards. Report taken.
Sunday, April 10
Municipal Code Complaint—11:23 a.m.—Lampson Avenue—The caller said a dog was off leash on the sports field. The caller said there was an on-going problem with the same individual. Police were unable to locate the dog or the person associated with the dog.
Transient—2:48 p.m.—Sixth Street—The caller said a transient man had been sleeping on the greenbelt in front of the caller’s home for the past two days. Police unit 141 advised him to leave and he said he would comply.
Recall—3:36 p.m.—Sixth Street—The caller said the transient man was still there. The unit was cancelled before it could be dispatched. According to police unit S24 there was no crime. The transient man had been advised to leave by nightfall.
Suspicious Occupied Vehicle—5:14 p.m.—Marvsita Avenue—The caller said the car had been parked there for an hour. The caller said three individuals inside the car were possibly smoking drugs. Police unit 107 arrived and found the car unoccupied.
No further police services were necessary.
Throwing Substance at Car—6:32 p.m.—Kitts and Westminster—The caller said a homeless man in front of the Naval Weapons Station entrance was throwing rocks at cars as they passed by.

Suspicious Occupied Vehicle—7:20 a.m.—Beryl Cove Way—The caller said a man was in a car, speaking on a cell phone. The caller was concerned because of a recent car burglary. Police unit S24 contacted the man in the car. He was there to pick up a friend.
Suspicious Circumstances—1:32 p.m.—Ocean Avenue—A citizen reported finding a piece of a finger on the jetty, near a Lifeguard Tower. Police unit 107 determined it was not a finger, but a rubber glove with sand in it. No further police services were necessary.
Found Property—3:55 p.m.—Ironwood and Tulip—The caller reported finding a purse in the middle of the street. It was empty. Report taken.
Tuesday, April 12
Illegal Peddler—6:44 a.m.—Southshore Drive—The caller said an individual was going door-to-door, passing out fliers. The caller said there was an on-going problem with the individual passing out fliers at 6 to 7 a.m. The caller hadn’t seen the individual that day, but heard him. Police were unable to locate him.
Suspicious Person or Circumstances—11:39 a.m.—Catalina Avenue—The caller said a man on a bike stashed something under a tree in the cul de sac, then left quickly. He was gone by the time police arrived. Nothing suspicious was located.
Vehicle Burglary—6:52 p.m.—Lampson Avenue—Between 5:40 p.m. and the time of the call to police, someone broke the lock on the driver’s side door of the caller’s car and took a small pocket knife and some prescription medications. Log entry.
Wednesday, April 13
Disturbance—12:05 a.m.—Seal Beach Boulevard—The caller said a man tried to rent a room, but didn’t have a valid credit card. He was now in the hotel, refusing to leave and using the elevators. The caller did not know where he went. Police contacted him on the second floor and transported him to the cold weather shelter in Santa Ana. Assisted.
Suspicious Property—11:04 a.m.—Bluebell—The caller reported finding what the caller described as a syringe containing a red substance in the trash can to the left of the playground. The caller was leaving the area. Police unit 106 determined the object was not a syringe, but a pen with red ink in it.
Transient—7:34 p.m.—Pacific Coast Highway—The caller thought she saw a transient with needles in his hand on the side of the alley. Police unit 207 contacted him. Details were blacked out in the log. No needles were seen. He was interviewed in the field.

Tuesday, April 5
Burglary Report—7:20 a.m.—Golden Rain Road—Security found a door with a broken glass. Police cleared the building. The business owner was advised that the business had been broken into. Some details were blacked out in the log. The business owner stood by for crime scene investigators.
Wednesday, April 6
Disturbance, Noise—12:57 a.m.—St. John Road—The caller reported some type of generator or construction noise coming from next door. Police unit 206 contacted employees who were changing out a transformer due to a blackout. They expected to be done at approximately 6 a.m.
Thursday, April 7
Fraud Report—11:36 a.m.—Danbury Lane—The caller said a check was stolen from the Post Office, the amount and name changed and the check cashed. The crime occurred on Dec. 24, 2015. The caller had no suspect information. The caller had already filed a report with the U.S. Postal Service. Report taken.
