Woman robbed in Old Town

A woman was robbed at knifepoint in Old Town on Wednesday, March 20, the Seal Beach Police Department announced in a Saturday, March 25 press release.

The crime was reported to police at 8:27 p.m., Wednesday.

The woman was walking on Electric Avenue between 10th and Main streets when a man got out of a car and asked to use her phone. She refused. The man then brandished a 10- to 12-inch kitchen knife.

The woman gave her phone to the man, who then left in his car. The suspect was described as white or Hispanic, 19 to 25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches, weighing 190 pounds, with short brown hair and a clean shaven face. He wore a black hooded sweatshirt. He left the area in a dark blue mid-1990s Honda or Nissan sedan.
