Timeless Treasures Boutiques is local pop-up artisan fair

Dawn McCormack and Karen Lona, two long-time Sunset Beach Residents, are not only very involved in their community but also in Timeless Treasures Boutiques, a pop-up artisan fair they co-own.

“We wanted to create an artisan environment that is fun, supportive of local talent as well as give back to our community,” McCormack said.

The two women are past presidents of Las Damas, a Sunset Beach woman’s philanthropic organization, so they were very familiar with local charities. In addition, Dawn has a brother who suffers from mental illness and she is a lifelong supporter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. So, it was a no brainer to team up with NAMI OC. Dawn and Karen are proud to donate 5% to local philanthropies, such as NAMI OC Creative Artists Guild & S.A.F.E. Rescue Team (an animal rescue group, based in Sunset Beach)

NAMI has a prominent display at each of the craft shows. Not only are the products great, but it is Dawn’s pleasure and privilege to mentor NAMI artists and both Karen and Dawn feel that, while the donations they make are important, minimizing the stigma associated with mental illness, is one of the best things they do. Last year, Dawn and Karen donated over $5,000 to NAMI OC.

Their latest artisan pop-up will occur Nov. 14-17 at 6905 Warner Ave (next to Big Lots) in Huntington Beach. Each pop-up features over 100 local artisans, authors and craftspeople. Renown Sunset Beach plein air
