Over the weekend, an unknown group of citizens planted “Support Chief Joe” signs on the front lawn of Seal Beach City Hall. The signs were gone Monday morning. Former Seal Beach Police Chief Joe Stilinovich and City Manager Jill Ingram issued a joint announcement of Stilinovich’s retirement last Friday, March 3. The resignation came more than five months after Ingram placed Stilinovich on paid administrative leave following the receipt of a complaint about the chief. The nature of the complaint is unknown as the complaint and the subsequent investigation, which was apparently still on-gong when Stilinovich resigned, were considered personnel matters.
