Seal Beach Radio Shack is robbed

A man with a gun in his waistband robbed the Radio Shack on Pacific Coast Highway Saturday night, Feb. 12, according to Seal Beach Police Sgt. Steve Bowles.

He took an unknown amount of cash. No one was physically injured.

The suspect, a white man 45-50 years old, had a handgun in the waistband of his textured khaki pants during the robbery.

He entered the store around 6:30 p.m. (The crime was reported at 6:34 p.m., about three minutes after the thug left, according to the dispatch log.)

The following is an account of the crime as it appeared in the log.

The suspect made the employees walk to the back of the store. The employees stayed in the back of the store. After he took the money, he left the store on foot.

Witnesses told police the suspect had a shaved head with slight facial hair.

He may have been 5 feet 11 inches tall and appeared to weigh 180 pounds.

He wore a two-tone blue plaid button-up shirt over an undershirt. His shoes were also blue. Police unit 242 contacted the employees at 6:44 p.m. They did not require further police service.

Police unit 216 checked from Main Street to Warner Avenue, but apparently was unable to locate the suspect and took a report.
