Seal Beach native explains ‘Love by the Numbers’

Seal Beach native Glynis McCants, the author of “Glynis Has Your Number” has completed a new book, “Love by the Numbers.”

The book was released Wednesday, Nov. 11, and McCants, a nationally televised numerologist, did a book signing at the Barnes & Noble bookstore in Huntington Beach, on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

McCants  attended both Zoeter and   McGaugh schools in Seal Beach and graduated from Huntington Beach High School.

“I was born in Seal Beach, in my parents’ home, the ninth of 11 children, and while I have traveled widely in the course of my career, my heart is always here in Seal Beach,” McCants said.

“It was the most wonderful place in the world to grow up.  Some of my best friends to this day are the friends I made here as a child, and my family has the ‘McCants’ tree’ planted on the greenbelt, right on the corner of Main Street and Electric Avenue,” McCants said.

McCants said her latest book was written to give single people the tools to pick the right life partner.

“If you are in a relationship that has lost its spark, you’ll have the information you need to re-ignite the passionate love you once had,” she said.

“I picked my wonderful husband Charlie by using Numerology. We have been together for seven years, and it really does feel like an extended honeymoon,” McCants said.

“I would wish for everyone the kind of marriage that we have, and the guidelines to make that possible are in this book,” McCants said.

McCants thinks the book will be of interest to everyone.

“If you know nothing about numerology, the directions are so easy to follow, that in no time at all you’ll be able to produce a numerology blueprint for yourself and the person in whom you are interested,” she said.

Among other things, the book is supposed to help people choose the perfect wedding date or a compatible house address.

“And did you know, for instance, that it isn’t always a good idea for a woman to take the groom’s name when marrying? The book covers that,” McCants said.  “ I also cover the classic love stories  like Clark Gable and Carole Lombard; Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.”

Her book also covers what she calls the difficult celebrity love stories, like Natalie Wood and Robert Wagner, Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner. She said the modern movers and shakers are in there as well:  President Barack and Michelle Obama,  Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Bill and Melinda Gates.

McCants said it is astonishing how their Numbers tell the tale.

“I believe in the lasting power of love. I think it is within the grasp of all of us, and my book ‘Love By The Numbers’ will help get you there.”
