John Wyatt Johnson of Seal Beach and Madeleine Kendall Dobson of Long Beach – along with their parents Kari Dobson, Kent Dobson, Libby Huebner, and Matt Johnson – recently announced their marriage.

They exchanged heartfelt vows on the golf course at Virginia Country Club in Long Beach on June 20, 2026, saluted by the dipping sun on a stunning California day. A joyous affair, the wedding was witnessed by 170 friends and family members from near and far.

Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an al fresco reception followed by a sit-down dinner inside the historic club house, where a nine-piece band fired up the crowd. Poignant toasts shared with love by Maid of Honor Meredith Dobson, Best Man Jack Blake, and the fathers of the bride and groom touched the bridal couple and their guests equally.

A late-night visit by an In-and-Out truck kept everyone nourished into the wee hours, which was a good thing because Maddie and Wyatt kept the celebration going with an after-party at the Fairmont Breakers Hotel in downtown Long Beach, the unofficial wedding headquarters for out-of-town guests.

After honeymooning on Lana’i and Oahu, Maddie and Wyatt returned to their new home in Belmont Shore and were greeted at the door by their beloved goldendoodle, Teddy.Maddie is a corporate attorney in the Irvine office of the law firm Rutan & Tucker.
