Seal Beach diver ‘Tory’ Ishimatsu wins national title in Texas

Seal Beach diver, Victoria “Tory” Ishimatsu, won the Women’s 1-meter USA Diving Winter Championship in Austin, Texas in December. This is her second Senior National title. Ishimatsu’s highest score was on a front two-and-one-half somersault in pike position earning her 63.70 points.

As a student at USC, Ishimatsu won Pac-10 and Pac-12 Championship titles all four years as well as 2012 NCAA Women’s 1-Meter title. She continues training and helping with training for Trojan divers including her sister, Haley.

Between them, the sisters have won 19 separate National and College titles. Haley was unable to compete at the Winter Nationals since she has been fighting injuries since winning the 2013 Women’s Pac-12 and NCAA titles on 10-Meter Platform. Trojan Coach, Hongping Li says he is thrilled to have the Ishimatsu sisters as such great leaders for his team.
