SBPD arrests burglary suspects arrested

Four suspects were arrested after they broke into the Private Sneakers store and reportedly stole merchandise, according to a statement issued by the Seal Beach Police Department on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

The suspects smashed the glass front door and entered the closed business located at 12410 Seal Beach Blvd.  Once inside, the suspects stole merchandise and the cash register.  Approximately one minute later, the suspects exited the store carrying the stolen property and fled the scene in a vehicle.  Seal Beach Police Officers stopped the car a short distance from the location.

The suspects’ vehicle was discovered to be a stolen car.  The stolen property consisted of sports attire and athletic clothing and was recovered from inside the vehicle.  Private Sneakers employees later estimated the total value of the stolen property was about $3,000.

The suspects were identified as:

  • Dartagnon Darnell Jones, 19, of Los Angeles
  • Leland Lamoine Watson, 18, of Los Angeles
  • Michael Kornell Brown, 18, of Lancaster
  • A 17-year-old juvenile

This arrest was the result of an investigation by Seal Beach Police detectives, the Community Oriented Policing team and allied agencies in Los Angeles and Orange County.  The suspects were arrested for commercial burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and conspiracy.  The adult suspects were later booked at the Orange County Jail.  The juvenile was transported to a local juvenile care facility.
