The Rossmoor Woman’s Club is a nonprofit organization that has been servicing and donating to worthy charities and schools in Los Alamitos, Rossmoor, Long Beach and surrounding areas for over 68 years. The membership year July 2026-June 2027 began with donation of backpacks and gift cards to be distributed to children of military families. Last month members gathered to pack zip lock bags of donated school supplies from other sources to be stuffed in the backpacks.
Club President, Sandy Tessier reports, “This year, the Rossmoor Woman’s Club is participating in Long Beach Gives 2026, a community-wide online fundraising campaign that supports local nonprofits serving our region. During the past six years, Long Beach Gives has helped area charities raise more than $10 million to strengthen our communities. Last year, the RWC awarded more than $30,000 in scholarships and educational assistance to deserving students. As the cost of higher education continues to rise, so does the need to help talented young people pursue the education and training that will prepare them for tomorrow’s workforce. This year, we hope to increase our scholarship and educational assistance to $40,000. We invite you to join us in reaching this ambitious goal.”
