Rossmoor Woman’s Club Hoiiday Home Tour set for Dec. 6

The Rossmoor Woman’s Club will host its annual Holiday Home Tour on from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 6.

Four families have opened their Rossmoor homes this year for all to enjoy.

Tea Room and Holiday Boutique

As before, the Ayres Hotel is providing the location for the Tea Room where guests can enjoy coffee, tea and delicious homemade cookies while they relax with their friends and check out the silent auction items.

And who doesn’t like to shop?

After cookies, guests can stroll out to the Ayres patio and shop at the Holiday Boutique with vendors offering unique jewelry, accessories, clothing and beautiful gifts.

All proceeds go to the many local philanthropic projects the RWC supports, such as scholarships for Los Alamitos and Laurel High School students and local charities.

The Weingart home

The home of Greg and JoAnne Weingart at 2661 St. Albans Dr., is a Plymouth Model with three bedrooms and two baths.

The original footprint of the house has not been changed, but many thoughtful interior changes have made the home more functional for the family.  The kitchen features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and cabinets in off-white with an antique finish which gives the room a French country flavor.

The home has beautiful hardwood floors, can lighting and fantastic crown molding.  French doors run the length of the dining room and open out to the backyard and pool.  The many changes made to this home created a great space for family and entertaining and will give you many creative ideas of your own.

The McMillin home

The home of Rob and Helen McMillin at 2681 St. Albans Dr. is a 4,400-square-foot California Craftsman completely rebuilt by Contractor Mike Rosenthal in 2006.

The decorator for the home is Vanessa Helmick of Fiore Interiors.  The home has four bedrooms; one is a music room and one is an office.

There are three fireplaces and hardwood floors throughout the first floor.

The living room/library and the formal dining room have beautiful built-in cabinetry in the Craftsman style.

The kitchen and family room have an open floor plan with a huge stacked stone fireplace.  The kitchen island and countertops are granite with a stone backsplash.  There are many photos displayed in the home of California or Arkansas, reflecting the home states of the owners.

Stone County Ironworks of Arkansas created most of the hardware used in the home and several works of art on display.  Also, most of the furniture in the home was made in California from renewable products.
