The Annual Southland Credit Union Los Alamitos Race on the Base is set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 23.
The event offers a chance to support the military at the Joint Forces Training Base through the Southland Credit Union Los Alamitos Race on the Base event.
The city of Los Alamitos is collecting donations that will be donated, along with matching funds (up to $10,000) with the funds raised through this effort.
The JFTB Morale, Welfare and Recreation is a network of support and leisure services designed for use by soldiers (Active, Reserve, and Guard), their families, civilian employees, military retirees and other eligible participants.

Race on the Base events include a Reverse Triathlon, Jr. Reverse Triathlon, 10K Run, 5K Run / Walk, Mission: 1K Kids Run, 10K Inline Skating and Wheelchair/Handcycle Race.
The race is held on the runways at the Joint Forces Training Base in Los Alamitos and features helicopters, planes and military vehicles with music throughout the course.
The event also features a distinctive long-sleeved technical race shirt for all participants and volunteers, free breakfast or lunch for all racers, two-day vendor expo, and finisher dog tag medals.
New this year: Hero Discount for Military, Police and Fire Personnel. Race on the Base is offering a $5 discount to all Military, Police and Fire personnel.
At registration, enter the coupon code HERO2013 to receive the discount.
At Packet Pick-Up, you will be required to present your Military, Police and Fire identification to verify eligibility of this discount.
