Polar bears topic of next SBIFA meeting

While Southern California is basking in beautiful sunshine, the Seal Beach International Friendship Association will be learning about polar bears on Thursday, Jan. 21.

Jackie Baird-Bunker, who has been entertaining a broad variety of audiences with her travel films, will present “Polar Bears of Churchill,” which has been used in schools in California, Colorado and New Jersey to teach students about bears, other arctic life and global warming.

Jackie Baird-Bunker had a career in the California State University system, Office of the Chancellor that spanned 30 years.

Retiring in 2001, she embarked on an entirely new path, expanding her photographic experience to include video.

She has spent her retirement years learning and refining her video editing skills with a mentor from Apple, incorporating the fruits of her passions for photography and travel into documentary films.
