Miss Seal Beach and courts are junior grand marshals

Salma Hayek one said, “People often say that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder,’ and I say, that the most liberating thing about beauty is realizing that you are the beholder.

“This empowers us to find beauty in places where others have not dared to look, including inside ourselves.”  She should know, as arguably one of the world’s most beautiful and recognizable women.

Krista Tamaras, Junior Miss Seal Beach

Rosie Richie wanted to find a way to help young women in Seal Beach not only find the beauty in themselves, but the realization that as she says, “they can be anything they want or can dream of.”

Thus this year, the Miss Seal Beach and Junior Miss Seal Beach pageant was reborn under her leadership.

It has flourished and been acknowledged by the City, Chamber, and Lions club as an organization worthy of being the Junior Grand Marshals for the Christmas Parade.

The Miss Seal Beach, Junior Miss and the courts are composed of:

• Joy Knepper, Miss Seal Beach

• Krista Tamaras, Junior Miss Seal Beach

• Miss Seal Beach Court: Samantha Savage, Megan Boyd and Brook Stinson

• Junior Miss Seal Beach Court Mikayla Rothwell, Clara Hunt and Jessica.

The girls have been involved in a variety of activities including the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce Summer Concert series and most recently, a spectacular golf tournament, Halloween on the Green in partnership with the Chamber.

As Rosie has indicated, the Miss Seal Beach Pageants’ mission is to find and promote exceptional women with a strong interest in education and humanitarian issues.

Their vision is to be recognized as a first class organization that consistently brings amazing women to the forefront and supports them as they work to achieve their individual goals.

Together these statements match the ideals of our community and the best of the holiday season—joy in service.

The City, Chamber and Lions are proud to have the delightful, poised, and remarkable Miss Seal Beach and Junior Miss as our junior grand marshals.  Be sure to see them as they cruise by with Rosie Richie and their courts early on in the parade.
