McGaugh student honored

McGaugh fifth-grade student, Jack Rogers, was honored earlier this month by the Association of California Administrators as Los Alamitos Unified School District’s “Every Student Succeeding” award recipient for the 2014-15 school year.

This award is presented each year to recognize students who overcome tremendous obstacles to reach their goals of academic excellence.

Jack has gone to Los Alamitos Unified Schools throughout his education, including McGaugh Elementary School and Lee Elementary School.

In spite of debilitating health conditions, resulting from multiple surgeries and frequent seizures, Jack perseveres and does well in school.  Jack has the ability to light up a room with his smile, wit, and has an incredible sense of humor.

Jack was joined by his family, teachers, and administrators at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana for a special presentation at the ACSA Every Student Succeeding Breakfast.  In addition to being presented with a medallion of excellence, he received annual passes to the Bowers Museum and two “park-hopper” tickets to the Disneyland Resort.
