Huntington Beach’s Marina High School was selected as one of more than a dozen civic and youth sports organizations from the city of Huntington Beach nonprofit Fireworks Lottery to operate a fireworks booth at Marina Village. Tammy Carver, Field Hockey Coach said:

“The gross sales were around $125,000 and after expenses and taxes, approximately $36,000 is going to the school to be distributed to groups whose volunteers help run the stand. It will be used for equipment, uniforms, and more.”

Emily Piramo, Marina High School softball, volleyball and field hockey booster representative said:

“I liked working the booth with other families from Marina to raise funds for our kids’ programs. It was great how so many parents and students were able to get involved to raise money to support Marina High School!”

Huntington Beach Mayor Pro Tem Pat Burns said:

“I think it’s awesome that these sports teams and charity or service organizations get an opportunity to work for money to support their causes.  They all give so much to our community, it is great that we can help by giving them the fundraising opportunity.”
