A man used a gun to rob another man in a Seal Beach shopping center parking lot on Christmas Day. The victim was not physically harmed. The reported loss: a gold watch.
“At this time we are canvassing the area for video surveillance and are asking the public’s assistance to come forth with any information, as our leads are minimal,” said Sgt. Phil Gonshak.
Police received the 911 call at 8:27 p.m., Christmas Day, Dec. 25. The caller said a he was robbed in the parking lot of the CVS pharmacy at Seal Beach Towne Center, located at 12490 Seal Beach Blvd. The Towne Center is on the opposite side of the street from the Shops at Rossmoor.
Responding officers determined that the victim had contacted the suspect online to sell a gold Rolex Watch. Upon meeting each other, the suspect produced a handgun and stole the watch. The suspect was the passenger in a vehicle driven by another person who the victim was apparently unable to describe.
The primary suspect is described as a right handed male, possibly Hispanic, 5 feet 5 inches, 130 pounds, short hair, clean shaven, wearing a black jacket, and blue jeans. The handgun was described as small and silver.
The suspect car was described as a silver colored, newer model, Acura or Honda.
After the crime took place, the suspects’ car drove northbound on Seal Beach Boulevard.
