Lions distribute glasses

The Seal Beach Lions Club had a booth on Main Street to promote Lionism and be part of the recent Sidewalk Sale. The Lions gave away more than 250 free Foster-Grant reading glasses and provided ear plugs and literature about hearing loss.  In 1925 Helen Keller, who was both blind and deaf, inspired the Lions organization to be “Knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.” Eleven Lions led by Laura Ellsworth worked the booth throughout the weekend.  For more information about the Seal Beach Lions Club, contact Scott Newton at scottnewton2@hotmail.com  or (562) 537-3955.
