Happy 100th, Virgina

Just shy of one year ago I had the honor to tell the story of one of Seal Beach’s most treasured citizens, Mrs. Virginia Haley.  Virginia moved to Seal Beach in 1922 and resides here still today.  She is celebrating a momentous milestone this coming week.  On March 26th, Virginia will celebrate her 100th birthday.  She has seen the birth of a great-grandchild this past year among other milestones. I know the Women’s Club and Seal Beach First Methodist Church will celebrate her in style and I hope she does something really special for such a special occasion on Sunday.

You are one classy and special woman. We are so lucky to have you here and I wish you a wonderful day.

Happy Birthday, Virginia!

Enjoy your library card

It’s gratifying to note Executive Director Randy Ankeny’s prompt attention to the computer problem in the library I presented recently. His professional ethic is commendable. The intricate issue I encountered was frustrating, which I did not experience at Mary Wilson library and Rossmoor Library. Their computer management is awesome. Every computer user can enjoy their hour allowance equally. I’m grateful I have a public library card. Library operations assistant at Leisure World, Taylor Greene, is a great help. His computer knowledge in solving problems usually takes only few minutes. He is a computer wiz and very handy, which we need. Most shareholders are retired professionals. As an educator, I’m enthusiastic to broaden my horizons in computer knowledge in diversified areas. I strongly believe love for continuous learning is endless. “Knowledge is power.”
