Recently the iconic Taco Surf of Surfside at 16281 Pacific Coast Highway reopened two years after being closed due to a fire.

The Maris family, who owns the establishment, said: “All the decor is new from vintage surfboards hanging from the ceiling in the new open concept dining room to the under the sea aquatic theme that adorn the walls behind the bar, a new lounge area has such a cozy feel for those who like to tuck away to have a drink – and of course our patio area or what we like to call the (bait tank) an ode to fishing past and present -handful of new cocktails, along with all of our classic drinks as well- entertainment primarily Friday and Saturday”, he said. “The band schedule is coming soon. Customers have been saying their new look is nothing short of amazing, which is more than I could of asked for, after two years of rebuilding I feel grateful and humbled and appreciative for all of our returning customers and to our staff for their loyalty and patience through such a tough time, I’m proud to say.”

The Maris Family started this Taco Surf Location in 1995 but prior to that they owned Uncle Dougies Diner from 1973 to 1988 where Woody’s Diner is currently at 16371 Pacific Coast Highway in Sunset Beach and they also owned The Pot Holder Restaurant at 115 Main Street in Seal Beach where the other Taco Surf Location is at and also another Potholder used to be on Broadway in Belmont Heights of Long Beach.
