McKenna’s on the Bay located at 190 North Marina Dr., Long Beach, will host jazz pianist/singer-songwriter Tim Reid Jr. from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays, Dec. 4 and Dec. 18, and Sunday, Dec. 30. Reid recently relocated from Chicago, IL, where he honed his love of jazz, blues, and pop music for nearly a decade and traveled the country extensively playing his original music. In 2008, he released his debut solo album “Minding My Own” to critical acclaim. His long-awaited follow-up, titled “Not Much Else to Do” is scheduled for release in early 2013. At Mckenna’s, Reid will sing and play many of our favorite “standards” of the last century as well as his own material. On Dec. 18, come ready to sing along to some of your favorite Christmas carols and holiday standards. A “Long Beach Best” restaurant, McKenna’s offers a daily menu featuring natural organic steak, seafood, and oyster bar. Arrive before 7 p.m. to take advantage of happy hour. Admission is free.
