Hot Ticket: Swing Dolls at Rancho Los Cerritos

Celebrate Memorial Day early on Sunday, May 22 with “The Swing Dolls” on the historic grounds of Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site.   This dynamic female vocal trio performs music made popular by the Andrew Sisters and the Maguire Sisters.

The free concert begins at 5:30 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m.  Visitors may picnic on the grounds after the museum closes at 5 p.m. Parking is limited to Virginia Road, so bicycles and carpooling are encouraged; no pets are allowed.  In this USO-style concert, “The Swing Dolls” will transport audiences to the 1940s, paying tribute to the music that inspired the World War II generation.

Presented against a backdrop of 19th century trees and the two-story National Historic Landmark adobe, this promises to be an exciting evening for families and friends.   Don’t forget to pack a lawn chair and dinner.   For more information please call (562) 570-1755 or visit the Web site at www.rancholoscerritos.org.
