Hot Ticket: ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ at Long Beach Playhouse

The Long Beach Playhouse closes its 2012 – 2013 Mainstage Season with the quirky and much-loved musical, “Little Shop of Horrors.” The production is directed by Andrew Vonderschmitt who also serves as the Playhouse Producing Artistic Director.
At the heart of this play we find a story as old as time; boy meets girl, boy feeds girl to man eating plant. The campy 1960s B Movie that featured a young Jack Nicholson is delivered live.
Vonderschmitt has chosen Musical Director Andy Zacharias, whose credentials include a master’s degree in music composition from the Bob Cole Conservatory at CSULB and his original works have been featured on Showtime and HBO. The production’s choreographer is Halley Wright who studied at the Lionel Hampton School of Music and she performed at the Lewiston Civic Theatre for more than seven years. Tickets: Adults $24, seniors $21, and Students $14. Tickets are available at www.lbplayhouse.org, or by calling 562-494-1014, option 1.
