This year, the Huntington Beach Academy for the Performing Arts (HB APA) will be presenting its annual holiday music concert, Sounds of the Season, in virtual format. The concert will air on Dec. 18-20, 2020 at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets to the virtual performance are $25 per household at hbapa.org/see.
To cope with the ever-changing circumstances due to COVID-19, the HB APA students have recorded each Sounds of the Season number in a socially-distanced format. They have worked in tandem with students from the HB APA’s Media department to organize the recording of each piece, and then to edit the pieces into a full music program.
Aside from starring APA’s decorated Orchestra department, Sounds of the Season will feature the HB APA’s Musical Theatre Department, Music Media and Entertainment Technology Department (MMET), Surf City Singers, and the Huntington Beach High School Band and Color Guard.
