Dollar Tree store coming to Seal Beach Village center

Discount outlet will be located next to Leisure World

Seal Beach Mayor Michael Levitt confirmed that a Dollar Tree discount store has signed a lease with the owners of the Seal Beach Village Center. The shopping center is located next to the Leisure World retirement community.  Levitt received the information from city staff.

He has not been in contact with the principles to the transaction.

Levitt said it would be two to three months before the building was redesigned to fit the Dollar Tree store’s needs.

The store will be carrying food. Since the Seal Beach Market closed in 2007, Leisure World residents have had to go to Ralph’s, Sprouts or Vons Pavilions to purchase food. Levitt said the Seal Dollar Tree will carry produce and dairy.  “The only thing that would be missing would probably be fresh meat,” Levitt said.

He said he wanted to encourage the store to carry as much fresh produce as possible.
