District One member resigns from Environmental Quality Control Board

The District One representative on the Environmental Quality Control Board has resigned.

Board Member Barry Allen resigned on May 15, 2024.

By law, the City Council cannot appoint someone to fill his place for at least 10 work days after the notice of the vacancy has been posted.

The vacancy notice on the City Hall bulletin board and was signed by City Clerk Gloria Harper on Wednesday, May 15.

According to his Seal Beach Boards—Commissions—Committee Application, dated Jan. 29, 2019, Allen holds a juris doctor in law from Western State College of Law; a PhD in environmental science in law from California Western University; and two masters of science degrees in environmental studies from CSU Dominguez Hills and in environmental systems management from West Coast University.
