Ocean Avenue Alley’s Rehabilitation Delayed

The Ocean Avenue Alley is having water and sewer mains rehabilitated between 1st Street and Main Street.  The water and sewer funds are paying for replacement of the alley surface after the utilities are replaced.  The design has taken longer than anticipated and the start date moved to January.

CERT training

There is a new CERT class starting up next weekend.  Twice a year CERT training is offered locally to prepare civilians for emergencies.  The Community Emergency Response Team Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the training learned, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help. For more information on CERT training, please call Todd Devoe at our Police Department.  562-799-4145.

Seal Beach Boulevard Bridge Widening

I hope you are finding ways to avoid the traffic going over the bridge.  Once it is completed it will be very smooth going, but getting there is going to take time and patience.  If you need any information on freeway closures or other information regarding the construction, please contact OCTA at www.octa.net/westcounty or if you prefer, you can e-mail:  wccproject@octa.net.

If I can be of any assistance please contact me.

Ellery Deaton is the Seal Beach councilwoman for District 1, Old Town and Surfside. Her phone number is (562) 743-4355.
